Just been looking through a site with some pics of old scooter rallies and spotted this: retroscooterrallies.fotopic.net/p22865752.htmlNever realised that novas had been around for so long. Quite a good site, really brings back memories of the eighties, I was a bit young to go on the rallies as a scooterboy but I remember walking round morecambe looking at the scooters. More pics at retroscooterrallies.fotopic.net/

Must be one of the first as they were intoduced in 1983. There is still a Y-plate one running around Oxford, not too scruffy either.

My brother used to have an '83 nova.... bog standard bar the 15in steels & in 'that' shade of blue (i.e faded to fook). You could appreciate the purity of the original design.
What you couldn't appreciate was the woeful performance, outdated suspension, complete abscence of rustproofing and the scary, scary fact that it was on drums all round.

Some interesting pictures on there, a definate bygone age. Equally interesting are the random cars in the background...I did my usual spot the Datsuns.....I counted 4!
