Yeah, that looks like hella fun. I wanted to introduce myself at RRG just so I could try and blag a blast in the rail, never did get round to it though (just like loads of stuff at RRG). Amazing photography too, it seems the bar for pics has been raised hasn't it?

Looks like an epic drive-out. Especially if you had the perfect weather we had down here.
Muchos fun.

Thanks for the comments guys - it was such an epic day and I'm still on a real high from it. Speedbird, the car is a UVA Fugitive - they usually look more like this: I love the look of them with the bodywork - it makes them look like a giant RC toy, but personally prefer the look, and moreso the experience, of them in their minimal 'bare bones' format. Before anyone asks about the suitcase on the front - no I was not attempting the whole "scene look retro tat roof-rack suitcase thing".....I just needed some storage for today seeing as we were going to be out for so long and this old case happened to fit perfectly in the front 'void' over the battery. Everything else I had was either too big or just the wrong shape. It was really handy to have even though it does look a bit out of place......and has given me some great ideas about making a proper storage compartment which actually matches the look of the buggy.

The suitcase does look well on it, all the same.

;D That's some weapon Mr Mystery. Those pictures are really good, is that the good lens you were on about somewhere else? Are you going to get a nice warm, safe bike helmet for Ireland and general driving?

now look Bruce, I am getting very worried about you, that thing is causing far too much fun and I think it will have detrimental effects on your health and well being ;D. Since I care so much about you I am willing to take my life in my hands and relieve you of this riskiness and take it away to drive it around like a loon weigh it in to remove this risk from anyone else. As I am so good I will even do it for nothing ;D ;D ;D ;D Awsome m8, will have to come down and pick up my lost property and blag a proper go

Niall, The lens is just the standard cheapy 'kit lens' that comes with the camera. Nothing fancy at all....but it does take good pics I took it because I knew the drive was going to be very bumpy and didn't want to risk damaging my good lens! Alan, You're more than welcome to pop over for an 'extended' drive. Now that everything is running a little better it's a lot more fun. Just let me know when? ;D

Thanks Jim, I was such an epic day yesterday....I'm sore/aching like mad today but really enjoyed the more comfy spells in the passenger seat I hope to get something sorted with the seating very soon. It's amazing how much fun the car is even when the base of your spine feels like it's just shattered and you've got 70 miles left to go! Any luck getting the video uploaded?

bolt two of these vinyl covered jobbies in: Won't work! Even with the tiny 'shell' seats in there at the moment with the flat base bolted directly to the floor, they are too upright and your head sticks out of the roof area between the rails! Something like the seat you suggested will be way too big and you couldn't mount it near the floor. The only option that will work is a set of these layback seats designed for the Fugitive: Anyone who has been in it will know exactly what a mean! I'll be tipping the current seats back for now to give some more room/clearance and hopefully some space for a bit of padding until I can get a set of the original style seats imported from the US. and one of these up front... I've got one of those and it was my first port of call when looking for storage, but the shape in the front area is all wrong to mount something like the one I've got. With the steering column on one side, the steering arms across the front and the battery underneath in the middle, the space is really hard to fill without fouling something! I will be making a custom storage compartment that can drop into the front area.....but only once I have ripped the car apart and rebuilt it with everything relocated/remounted to make the car/access/storage work better. Thanks for the suggestions though - I really appreciate it ;D

I see... tricky!... sorry, you've probably already got the 'vision' in your head for the rebuild... but you caught me in a thinking mood...so I might throw some more ideas around... what about two of those smaller narrow ammo boxes mounted outside of the frame behind the front wheels on the sides...like panniers...
