whats everyone up to? I'm gunking and cleaning the underneath of my engine on the goof, giving the carb a good 'seeing to' with cleaner, more detailing of the engine bay, giving the shiny paint another wax so its even shinier, and maybe some schutzing ready for the winter salt....phew

New fuel filter for the bimmer, plus affixing the new (s/h) exhaust manifold. Also cleaning the car as it's been stood for 2 weeks and is covered in dirty norris, and maybe some under-bonnet detailing, if I can be arsed.
'winter' service on my pal's mini, poss followed by carving more grot out of it with an angle grinder. Joy!

Putting my girlfriends Mk2 Capri into winter storage, pulling the winter clonker Mk2 Golf out of storage and doing the usual checks before a MOT on Monday... Then welding up the inner wings on my Subaru coupe...
Have fun everybody, and let 'blow heater' be our watchwords for those outside. ;D

putting some anti freeze in the benz cos theres none in having a look at the car that my replacement bus engine is in, pug 205 1.9stdt ;D then soting out a space in my garage for said engine to live while parts are accumulated or made. borrowed a spare type 2 gearbox to save taking mine out while we take measurements, itll also be handy for mocking it up before final insertion. ;D

bodge (yes, you heard me........BODGE) some ducting in place and put a black bag over the air filter so all the air drawn into the engine is coming from the exhaust manifold area, to sort my pesky pesky pesky pesky carb icing problem out.
cant wait to get injection.
errrrrm. clean the car aswell, and take the tyres off the compomotives ready to be satinblackified up.
go buy a new stat and fit it
same with wiper blades
change wheel bearing.
those are all the things that need to be done, we will see by mondy how many of them have been done!

Fingers crossed, I will take a trip to where the Rambler is stored and:
Re-fit the thermostat housing, if I can get some new (longer) bolts Change the oil and filter Fit the choke cable I bought on ebay Make and fit a clip for the N/S front brake pipe Fit the torque converter cover I bought last week, if I can get some bolts Fit the spring assisters I bought on ebay Re-fit the front wheels and get it 'back on the deck'
...and maybe fit a new thermostat in the skoda.

|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Quick blast down the A1 to castleford to pick up up a small mig welder I have just bought of the bay. But got to be back and suited up before going to a wedding at 11am ;D Sunday morning compression check a K series engine. Couple of tyres to swap over onto some different rims before going to a christening at 10am. So my suit will be getting some hammer even if my tools wont

Picking up a new cylinder head for the vespa tomorrow as the current one has the plug held in by a few threads and no more nails! Then I'll be grinding and wire brushing and more grinding on the 1303 so I can actually get round to welding some new stuff in.
