A change in my commuting means my fairly recently acquired 'sensible' bike is sitting idle. Typical really, as I've spent quite a bit of time and money on it So, here's your chance to snap up a good bike at a good price. It's taxed and tested until about next February, recently serviced, and recently fitted with a Givi A750 nosecone/screen, new mirrors, and custom made rear rack (mounted nice and low and as far forward as possible to try to minimize any adverse handling effects, and it works!) and a quick release Givi Monolock top case. It runs and rides fine, and is in pretty nice condition now. So, if it's the sort of thing you're after, make me a sensible offer. If it doesn't attract a decent offer (we're not talking massive money here) I'll tuck it away in the garden incase I need it in the future...

Well, the tyres (Bridgestone Battlax BT45's both ends) have plenty of life left in them, and the chain and sprockets are all good, etc. It's had fork seals, rebuilt rear shock linkage, stripped and cleaned brakes, new oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs, plug caps, etc...
I'm very particular about making sure that whatever I ride or drive is screwed together right, and more importantly, dependable. It's not perfect cosmetically, but it does run and ride really, really well now. It's an R reg and is showing 57k on the clock (high-ish, but genuine, with masses of history to prove it). A bike of this age is bought on condition rather than mileage though, and I'd describe the overall condition as pretty tidy, or 'eminently useable without being too worried about picking up a scratch or two'! Far from untidy, anyway. And in my opinion, the extras I've fitted make it more suitable for what it's actually designed for (commuting), and a little more 'desireable' than most other GS500's.
But enough of my waffling - come and have a look.
It's a twin cylinder pushing out probably mid-40's BHP - enough to have fun but still keep your licence.
Price? Well, looking at what this owes me, the condition it's in, and 'completed listings' for similar examples on eBay, I'm looking for sensible offers on £700. However, I will also listen to offers of swaps and p/x's (don't I always!), and have always wanted an old British or European bike, and I'm not averse to 'projects'...

After the hassle I had trying to find a decent GS500 last summer, I'd say that's a good deal! Every one I saw had been chucked down the road at least a dozen times or was crusty and rattly having sat in someone's shed for months (usually after they dropped it). So, in conclusion, er, free bump
