After work Friday I set off from Leeds at 5.20pm excited and very worried in equal measure. My porka has been peeing water out the expansion tank after each run since I changed the waterpump a couple of weeks ago. So armed with bottles of water I set off not knowing if I had HG issues of just a bit of an air lock that still hadnt bled out. I stopped at the 1st and 2nd services to check the water level which stayed OK so I blasted the rest in one go cruising into the campsite at 9.40 and pitched the tent by headlight. My bro arrived (from Fleet nr. Farnborough) and we BBQ'd had beers and watched the Italian Job in the 'Cinema'.
These two (924 & Saab Turbo) each our 1st Retro car and we have had them less than a year apiece. This was also our first car show too.
Simon cooked brekkie on the cool Car-B-Q courtesy of BiAS.
And we had a good laugh at the constant tooing and frowing of the Wartburg taxi service. Giving lifts from the bottom of the field to the loos in Retro Style.
Went for a blast out to get some food supplies then went the Haynes museum. We just parked up next to a cool low Merc and a metal flaked Golf like you do.
I loved the XJ220 though 90's interiors do seem a tad dull.
Simon gets Alfa exited.
And well a Countach is just plain mad.
Next up we cough the 1/2 price last entry (last 1.5hr) at the Fleet Air Arm museum which we really could have done with another 45min to get around as we had to be ushered out at closing without quite seeing everything.
The track action was really good to watch. I was cursing at not bringing the documentation so I could have sent the 924 round; my bro was in the same boat. Shame as his 900 16V Turbo is more powerful but the 924 should have the advantage in the corners so it would have been interesting, maybe next time eh.
The American Diner ‘catering van’ was awesome to watch on the track, really didn’t expect that and he was giving it some beans too. I’m surprised the front tires stayed on the rim with the amount they were being lent over.
In the show fields there was too much to pick the favourites out of, soo many cool cars of all styles.
I didnt relise the lens had got a bit smudged and I'm not a photographer so pics aint all that good but you get the jist. All in all an excellent weekend. This year I'm just happy to have gone in a retro next year maybe I'll have done a few bits on it too... after all I have plenty of ideas smimming about now.

PS. Much thanks to everyone who was so friendly (I cant remember everyones names/usernames) but the campsite/show atmosphere was great and thats a credit to everyone there.
