Looking for some advice from people that have done it or know about doing it ;D I have a new set of Yokohamas, 175/50/13 Will these go on to 8x13" rims or am I better going 7" or 7.5" instead I don't want to go to the expense of buying 195/45/13s either, easier to get the wheel size right instead cheers Dom

I only just managed to get these tyres on my 7 * 13 for the Mini, I'd hate to think how hard it'll be to fit these to 8" rims

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

175.50's on an 8" rim, plenty of people run em like this, with no probs. 195.45.13 on a 9" rim!

I'd only have to look at them to crack them on the kurb.
That just looks plain wrong and perhaps a little dangerous.

Is that the same wheel/tyre set-up on both? It does look a little scary on the later Polo. This was a 175/55/14 on a 7" rim:

This 'Stretchy' tyres thing I knew nothing about until I joined this Forum. So thanks to all here. However I'm not really a fan of it (but each to his own, and it would be a boring world if we were all the same ;D), although I sometimes think they look great on some of the German Euro'd vehicles. Personally I like tyres to be fatter/wide and have the side wall 'bulging' over the rim (if you get my meaning) On a side note round were I live no tyre centre (including the local wheel shop i'm friends with) will fit tyres to give the 'Stretchy' look (no recomended sizes etc.)

My compos 13x7 have 175 50s and they don't look stretched. The rears are 13x8 and have 195/45 on them, looks spot on imo. photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/MCY/?start=allPics are in there of that These are the 13x8 compos on the mk1 with the 195/45s photobucket.com/albums/v609/philj/I have 175 50s on the 13x7+8 revolutions. I can get some pics of them if you want to see how they look. The rim isnt poking out of the tyre, doesnt look silly stretched at all. Think alot depends on what tyre it is too. 13x7 on a 175 50 doesnt look stretched.

When are you going to sell me those 5 spoke Compos then ;D Finish the Kadett off a treat I must admit I prefer the look of the 175`s on 7`s than the more stretched 8`s

Haha. Long story, but I'm not even allowed to sell them! Although I do know where there are some for sale, frshly refurbed, but expensive though.... www.porka.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8760I've got doms email/msn if you want to talk to him. Tbh I'd prefer it if they were the same allround, either the stretched or not, hence why I been trying to swap the 8's off dom! ;D I think a 175 50 on an 8" rim looks spot on. I'm going to an engineering place tommorow, hoping they'll have bolts that fit, so the revolutions might be on the mk1 tommorow. Will get some pics to show the tyres on the 8's...
