Firstly I apologise for this thread, but I'm so rushed both in work time and in the evenings trying to get my E28 to the RRG and I don't really have time to trawl the search tool. Basically I need insurance suggestions for my 1983 E28 520i with a 2.5 engine, air filter, lowered and alloys. Cost to me in all has been £200, I'm 23 with 4 years NCB but thats stapled to my daily driver. This is only to be 1500miles a year to get myself to shows and back.
My best quote so far is from Heritage at £285 with a steep £350 excess. Flux quoted me £540 and sureterm told me my car was too cheap for them to insure...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I had the idea of day insurance but I'm either too young or the car too old.

Try Peter D James. He's ex-Footman James and has started a new company. Not sure how they'd take to modified stuff but worth a go.

Over 25s! I found out the hard way. I'll try lancaster but I haven't had great quotes from them in the past.
Cheers

TBH I am moving away from Lancaster I used to push them alot to others, but in recent months I have found them Rude, Unwilling to help, untrained on the Policies they resell and thick!
So don't be suprised to have a wicked quote by them only to find when the paper work comes through everything is wrong. Happened 3 times this year to myself (on 2 different cars) and 1 once to a friend of mine, and all this was done over the phone.

Try HIC (Herts Insurance Company) or Footman James.
HIC were good on price for 2 years then tried to fist me, Footman James came up trumps this year.

I don;t know if it was a one off but I used Sureterm a while back on the 2002. I declared all mods (from the twin 40's and high lift cam to the new interior) and found them to be really helpful and reasonable. www.sureterm.com/

Ford Focus RS Mk1 - hello low MPGs and "wanna race me" at every set of lights... 1973 BMW 2002 - Twin 40's, 284 Cam, Revolutions, E21 Recaros + more Porsche Cayman 987 3.4S - here and due to cost me more money than I have

Absolutely brilliant service and will insure anything, calculating based on BHP limits. You'll probably get through to a welsh bloke called Kerry who was pleasure to deal with when I've spoken to him
