How is the scenery around Yeovil for driving around? Overhere it's just flat and straights.. No nice drivingroutes or anything like that.. What are the nice curly roads overthere? I'm keen for a little scenic drive while I'm there..

I've seen a bunch of people overhauling a complete wreck in 60 minutes on TV, so why can't I do it in 3 weeks?

As it's in Somerset, it's quite rural so there are quite a few small country roads once you get out of the built-up area (Yeovil is a small place anyway, and I think we are in a more rural location at Sparkford). I don't know of any specific places but I've driven around Somerset plenty and there are lots of opportunities to get completely lost in the middle of nowhere! I'm not much taken by the countryside, so I'd probably describe the scenery as a load of trees and some hills... ;D

You usually get a great view of the back of a caravan down that end of the country in the summer.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

there are some very scenic bits of zummerzet a trip to lyme regis will mean you can have a stroll along the cob wall and recreate scenes from a french leftenant woman (or the scotish widows ad) there is cricket st thomas (near chard) for the settings for to the manor born west bay (cant remember the programes name but that seaside thing with nick berry i think) and most of the roads around and between these are pretty good but if you fancy a bit of hillclimb practice there is a road which as far as i can remember is in the gillingham area called zig zag hill (the name is an understatement in every aspect) if you fancy a big tour (just a suggestion) sparkford-yeovil-dorchester-weymouth-bridport(via coast road) then lyme regis-axminster-honiton-chard-crewkerne-yeovil-sparkford if you fancy some of these but swimbo dosent you can mention a few shopping opertunities dorchester bridport and honiton have street markets and of course honiton lace, axminster for carpet but i don't know if there is a factory shop plus axminster power tools maybe this is of help but my info is 4 years out of date as that is when i moved north ttfn glenn

another tip for all mk3 owners if you travel along the a38 north of highbridge there is a village called mark which seems to be 3 miles from every junction with the a38 so all the road signs provide a photo oppertunty with a ready made sign as before this info is 4 years out of date, well the roads and the village will still be there but if penny pinching somerset council have maintained the signs is anybodys guess ttfn glenn also if you fancy beach fishing the coast road from weymouth to bridport takes you along chesil beach
mmm interesting Somerset must have expanded as most of those places are Dorset and Devon... ok they are not that far away!
guilty as charged m lud, but remember somerset does keep changing, is avon part of it again? but anyway another suggestion for places to visit is the bovington tank museum (some serious retro heavy metal) www.tankmuseum.org/ and yes its not in somerset either ttfn glenn ps I suppose for the visitors we should list a few places where they can get some proper scrumpy (proper cider) the only one I can list is perrys at dowlish wake which also has a bit of a retro museum (as in horse drawn retro) and a shop doing odds and ends (well 4 years ago it was there) yep still there www.perryscider.co.uk/shop/warning scrumpy can seriously damage your underwear as the next morning you will find access to toilet facilitys essential ;D ;D ;D if
