looking for a tall auto shifter which floor mounts (not like Lokar which mount to the box) and I don't want some Tikki monstrosity which goes out the sun roof. mostly because I don't have a sun roof.
I was sure that Hurst used to do a long Unimatic for pickup trucks and B&M do a Megashifter with a tall base for "compact trucks" but not sure if you can still get the truck Unimatic and not sure if the B&M one is what I want.
Basically I want something which will clear a bench seat, but not hit the dash when you are in Park LOL
Ironically the Long Shifter company only does short shifters.
Anyone any thoughts?

Alistair, I normally make my own in that situation. I use an XJ shifter as a basis where you can use the cable or convert to rod and it bolts to the floor, also includes microswitche sif you box doesn't have an inhibitor as stock .
Lock outs are achieved, as standard , by pulling the shifter towards you rather than any push /lift buttons . Section the original XJ shifter and bolt / weld your new shifter to it. Thats how I'm using a old 60's Hurst manual shifter on the C3 in the POS. I've a photo if you want it but can't put it up here .

Similar design on some mk3 granada autos too - I have one here that has pull to lockout, easy to lengthen, threaded same as a ford manual stick at the top. It's in the "might be useful someday" pile, lol.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

I have a column shift but its falling apart. I was going to junk it and replace it with a floor shifter. Means I have space for headers too then.

I have made an attempt using some "improvisation". Its not great. If I could get a poly bush to turn down (maybe an ARB one or something) for the main selector shaft it would improve matters.
