Thanks Mr_B. Your advice re; importing from Germany was much appreciated. I have discovered a slight problem however. Since buying the car my head appears to have swollen to such a large extent that it is now an interference fit in the door aperture, thus preventing driving enjoyment I feel a bit of a fraud to be honest, since I only collected the car and didn't actually produce it. Not to worry, best purchase ever ;D I feel a bit like the father of a new born child. All filled with pride. Now, to sort out the kitchen for Misses Daz!

I feel a bit of a fraud to be honest, since I only collected the car and didn't actually produce it. I know how you feel...I felt similar when I bought my old Herald. To be honest, I consider the buying on a whim, travelling hundreds of miles and importing an 'authentic example of Euro-look' to be quite a feat anyway. Merely purchasing it gets respect in my book and I can't wait to see it!

i agree, the fact that you appreciated its coolness enough to buy it justifies your swollen cranium and your feeling of satisfaction

Thanks again guys.
It's very difficult trying to resist the urge to do something at it, just for the sake of putting my mark on it. However, I am very happy with the look of the car (and even more impressed with the condition) and I certainly have no plans to mess with the looks of it. I will content myself by fiddling with the engine.
The only change I will make is to lower the rear suspension by an inch. It rides slightly higher at the back so I will just level it out, since I am not really a fan of the nose down stance and I doubt there is enough ride height remaining to get a tail dragging stance! I actually think that it rides pretty hard but Hairnet600 seems to think it's fine. I guess I must be going soft! I have probably spent too much time in my cushy S40 T4. I will now go and stand outside in the wind and rain until I am a man again!!!

That's not my kitchen I'm affraid. Mine looks like something left over from the fifties I have just purchased these as my winter wheels And these for a future XE powered track day Ascona project (when funds permit). I've also 'won' a set of Ascona 400 glass (bronze tint and opening rear quarters) for very little money. I'm not sure I will be fitting these to the 'Green Meanie' but they are nice to have. I've been shopping for a few more goodies too. I'm all spent up now

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Is this the cause of your present discomfort? What a cool way to get an injury though

Mmmmmm - this is lurverly Good work that man for bringing over such a fine specimen of 'Euro-ness' I bet it still pulls alright with the 2L engine? - 2.7 would obviously be better ;D Loving the deep dish Rostyles you have lined up as winter wheels.
