;D Just a quick update, Look what I have just done a deal on With 60,000 miles on it and a Knocking bottom end, so it wants a set of rings and some investigation and bearings finding for it. Everyone says you cant rebuild them but I cant find anything at work that makes them special So £30 well spent I feel ;D ;D Got a set of R1 throttle bodies in the garage as well Got some more bits to take photos of as well ;D

sweet as geez! wudent mind something like that for myself! although, for the work thats gonna invlove getting it in there, why not go 2.0 zetec? I want to stay below 1400cc I want a lightweight Screamer, with cheap tax ;D 120ish HP in a lightweight reliable package should be plenty. This is all Alloy as well without the Iron block of the Zetec. If I do need more then it will be supercharged, so I still keep cheap tax And worst ways, the 1700cc from the puma is dimensionally the same, so I can drop one of those in instead ;D

they're a curse word for disintegrating when you run 'em low on oil. they are rebuildable though, i know a chap who gota recon one for his fiesta when his original started knocking badly. pretty good tunability, nice light engine - not as hardcore as 2.0 but slightly more modern and same tuning process applies.

Never trust a man Who names himself Trevor. Or one day you might find He's not a real drug dealer.

Yea, the bottom ends on those go a lot. I can only hope you manage to find the bits you need, I hope they're not too dear from the dealers!

I do have access to........... how should I put this Insider information Its only an Engine, they all do the same basic things, if I can get Bearings it will be rebuilt, I don't think they are available from dealers, but I might be able to get them direct from the Plant ;D What happens is the Oil control rings wear, then they burn oil, run low and knock out the Big end bearings The second generation did not have the same problem because the ring material was changed As for when it will end up in the KAdett depends on when I can get everything to rebuild it. For now, I have the Ex Nightmares 1.2s motor and gearbox to go in along with the twin carb setup. I want to change the gaskets before fitting it, then I can get the Zetec stripped Some more Bits that arrived from Germany ;D Koni Adjustables for the front Manta 400 Mirrors ;D I`ll get some more Bodywork pics tomorrow in Daylight ;D I have also replaced the rear Dampers with Nova GSI Rears, and fitted the old front springs on the rear with 2.5 coils cut out..... rides a lot better now, but still wants to go stiffer and lower on the rear. I have some new ARB Drop links to go on the front as well, so it may not look very much but progress is continuing ;D

Interesting engine choice. A bit of cross polination can be a good thing I would have expected an Eco-tec but that would have been a bit obvious I suppose. What box will you use with the Zetec, a Type 9? Englemanns eh? Hmm, good choice sir

Hmm, good choice sir Have you seen the price of 1800 manta bits lately I can buy an ecu for it and a type 9 for less money than a Manta sump and 5 speed to fit an XE Zetec is lighter than XE as well
