Oh yes,and another thing which is getting too common is illiterate ill bred feral children "tagging " cars!!! Last week we had that F***kin' stupid American phenomonon of Halloween trick or treat. It's some curse word that has been infilltrated into our society in the last 3-4 years. Kids dressed up in maskes and other wibblepoo knock on your door demanding money or sweets. What happened last week was an elderly widow opened her door to find some of these little charmers who demanded money or food.As a Christian she told them she didn't beleive in the mc Donalds approach to religion and imported "customs" and told them to leave,so the little arseholes went out and sprayed her car!,all sorts of obscenities like "niggas rool" etc all over her car with felt tip pens and spray paint. And now it has been revealed by the Police that it has become more common.I have my wheel brace primed and ready for the "artist " who would dare to get past my dog and attempt to tag any of my cars.....no matter how derelict .

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

go for a rat car with 4 wheel clamps on it. too much hassle to steal and as for vandalism? just adds to the effect!
on a serious note, are rat cars stolen that often? surely a theif would steer clear of them due to them looking so unreliable?

rat cars do get stolen, usually cos rat = lack of cash and lack of cash means it won't have an alarm etc. the other type of rat, the really well done rat with lots of money spent get stolen for the value of the parts.
sadly with cars like ours, security was never a strong point so you find yourself having to add masses of gadgets, locks, bolts etc just to bring it up to date. most new cars are too much hassle to steal without the keys so more and more 'retro' motors are going missing.

well ive been everywhere today trying to get some locks to no avail so the Shuv is staying at home and I'm getting a lift back to Swansea. So thanks to the wonderful people that tried to steal it, not only have you lost me my car until christmas so i will no doubt miss going for drives with my mates, a trackday and a retro-rides meet but its cost me petrol, whatever the cost of new locks will be and damaged a little of the paint on my doors. Well i hope it was worth it. I'm tempted to put a notice up where it was broken into saying "to the people who broke into my car - i know who you are and where you live and i will get you!" or something similarly menacing, however the sad reality is they would probably brick the windows of my house and beat me up.

f*cking disgusting, my condolences mate. ive only had my mk2 2.8 granada ghia broken into.they smashed a rear 1/4 window to open it, broke the steering lock and tried to hotwire it.amateurs, cos you can unscrew the ignition barrel and start them with a screwdriver, spoon, 10p etc. i get more random vandalism nowadays.had the badges snapped of both of my benz's and only last tuesday some grafitti artist scrawled "f*ck and f*ck you 15 times in the muck on my bonnet. there must be some new kids about who arnt familiar with my heavy handed approach to this sort of action.if i catch anyone even looking like they are gonna mess they get warned that their head will be placed against the b pillar and have the door repeatedly slammed on it, then il visit their house, do their dads car and give him a kicking while I'm there. this usually works, but if it doesnt, I'm fully prepared to follow through with my threat.the law may not look upon it favourably but screw them, if they're not prepared to help law abiding folk its time to help ourselves. i find it shocking that we have a legal system that actually creates criminals.and as all that have met me will agree (i hope) I'm a nice quite unassuming kinda guy. as rev9 clearly advocates "VIVA LA REVOLUTIONE".

my mates mr2 mk1 had paintstripper poured all over it... due to the value of the car it only got touched up wid hammerite - he has since rolled it and written it off.
another mate had a window smashed
and my brother had all his valve caps stolen, arial unscrewed and put through the wheel and whipers stood up....
all this was done to peoples car that where parked on a peice of grass outside their friends house, it wasnt anyone elses parking space as no 1 else parks there and itsnt blocking anyones veiw or n e thing, its just a common route from chavy pubs and clubs home so its 'fun to curse word up ppls cars' on the way past. curse word.

why is it you can kill someone if they break into your home but if they break into your car theres nothing you can do?
the only tihng iv had done to my car was some traveller curse word kids stealing my valve caps. magpie mofo's! my dad had his car keyed as well althought we don't know where it was done (we know whereabouts on the car obviously, just not where it was parked at the time). if i see someone vandalising/stealing my car I'm grabbing the heaviest thing i can carry and getting some street justice. sod the cops

i have looked into this, by using some of those big capacitors that the lax power lot use to power their subs, attached to the battery and earthed through the body, when the car is touched the capacitors will discharge through the person touching it! Aparently this isnt very socially acceptable as it may kill a stinking car theif, i cant see the problem.

being a electronics engineer ive often thought of the charged capacitor route! although u know in this country the laws on the side of the criminal and they would love a bit of compensation and i would be the one in trouble Been pretty lucky although 3 months ago i had the 2 new wiper arms on my mini estate bent right back, they promptly snapped when i tried to bend em back
All the security didnt stop my mint series 1 Rs turbo being towed at 3.00am from a quiet cul de sac with the back wheels skidding/handbrake lock and alarm going off using a tow truck, they even dumped a car accross the top of the road to block any chasing cars in! all for a 2 grand (at the time)car saw the truck reversing on a neighbours security camera no one heard a thing! now wheres my soldering iron and capacitors!!!

Last year 4 lads broke into my mates XR3i (it was a stop gap while he finnished his MI16 205) all 4 of them were sat in it and it wouldnt start as it had no coil lead on. A woman saw them and they started running off so by now i had seen the car open and got the owner and a couple of mates we chased them through Swansea with the police who caught all four of them in the van. RESULT! people power, we had them. eeerrrr no. We had got the woman who saw them doing its phone number and we needed her to come and identify them there and then in the van (she was only a 2 min walk round the corner) but she didnt answer and because we had only seen them running didnt prove anything so they just let them out the van. Unreal.

Bloody hell, that's crazy. Surely a quick dusting for finger prints would have proved that they were guilty, or is that too much bother for Swansea police?
