Ok guys, some quick questions.
if i have some wheels that arent made for my car, and they are slightly different PCD is it a major thing to get them redrilled? and if the difference is so minute
say for examle wanting some wheels that are 5x120 but finding some wheels (american ones ) in 5 x 4 3/4 pcd would they just fit over and the slight difference just be so minimal it wouldnt matter.
obviously don't want to have wheels falling off so just want to check whats safe and whats not

Id say the maximum differance i would attempt to fit with taper wheel nuts would be about 0.5mm. If your using tapered nuts the studs/lug nuts will attualy have to bend and will be under alot of stress which isnt a good thing when there holding the wheels on!
If your using straight shanked nuts then the only limit is what will physicaly fit imo Theres normaly at least a 1mm tolorance

If your example is the actual size you're talking about.. then just get the wheels slotted slightly to suit, shouldn't be any drama's at all. People slot 108's to 110's over here so 120 to 120.65 is nothing.

I have a set of 4x98 alfa wheels I'm going to put on a polo which is 4x100. I looked into it and found "wobble bolts" They apparently allow up to 2mm difference. They look like a normal wheel bolt, but with a coned washer type thing over the end. I can get some pics if you want to see them. Obviously cant comment on their safety as I havent fitted them yet.

yeh i'd be interested to here more about these wobble bolts.
another thing is what about the centre bore? and yeh the 5 x 43/4 was the exact wheel size id found to go over the 5x120 hub.
thanks for the info guys.

I'll get some pics for you tommorow.
Do you know the centre bore of your car/hub and of the wheels your fitting?
If the centre bore of the wheels are too small you can get them machined out a few mm to match, if its too big, you can get spigot rings to sort that.

calling RMAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........ hellooooo? ? I'm here...but the metric/imperial arguement isn't definitive enough for me to stick my oar in confidently, my advise would be to try and find some wheels in the relevant pcd and try 'em.
