I'm planning on supercharing a reliant 750cc engine using a new mini eaton m45 blower, have just got together the cash by selling stuff on the 'bay to fund it but before i started buying books ect i wanted to be sure that i wasnt barking up the wrong tree here.
the engine is only 750cc and currently has a 1 1/4 inch inlet which with abit of work could be made to a 1 1/2 with little work. but the eaton website recomends the m45 for use with 2.0 to 3.0ltr engine which is alot larger than mine. is it possible to make this work with the use of correct pulleys ect or is it just simply too big.
i wanted to be sure because id rather not blow cash on books and things if the new mini one is no use as its the only one within my price range (unless anyone has a small blower going cheap?)
hope you guys can help
Nick

Got one here !
I've literally been playing with it today as It was going in the pile of Manta stuff on the way down south.
Its a little tight with sitting off the car for a while, but I seem to remember it was like that before I fitted it 1st time and took about 2 minutes to free off perfectly once started.
You can have it cheap, I'll grab some photo's tomorrow.

shirley if it's recommended for a 3 litre engine, BMW must have fettled them somehow for the mini - isn't that a 1.6?

Yeah there are a few m45 eaton g40 conversion about. One got rolling roaded at 190bhp, obviously with a few other things. The minis they came from are a 1.6.
I don't know about reliants, but did they do a bigger engine?
If they can go on a 1272cc, then would of thought it be fine on a 1.0l or something like that. Just don't run a silly small pulley!
Are you going to get forged pistons etc?

they did do a 850 - but its alot of work to make a 750 into an 850, and even more work (and money) to build a 850 to the spec off: thats brand new bores and bearings, with straped main bearings, polished matched and balanced rods, brand new hepolite pistons and rings (no one does forged ones, but the hepolite ones are more solid than standard and are indistructable). uprated valve springs, fast road cam, toothed water pump drive (also geared down to prevent cavitation), performance oil pump drive, and a few mods to the oil system. wast built in 1975 and put in a race car but then lost interested and was never used, a local guy bought the car, stripped the engine and i bought it off him in pretty much new condition. will be alot more mods to come but should be pretty much bomb proof.
