Great pictures, really inspirational Did you build the cage yourself or is it a modified bought one? I like the brace bars for the front subframe, I might do something like that when I put a flip front on mine, much nicer than the ones you can buy! The internal gearlinkage looks cool, pretty easy to do I bet using a UJ. I like the cut down stick as well, free short shift. Are you going to weld the seat mounts to the cross members? That'd be pretty trick! Keep us upto date with your progress

Oh please don't show me Minis now that mine is being replaced by an Ascona.
That's a serious looking cage, and a very trick looking crossmember just in front of the rear seat base.
I see that you have cut the rear arches up for an extra low stance on tiny 10's. Good man! :-)
You will need to raise your upper rear damper mounts though to get it super low. Quite involved but well worth it. This applies even if you are using lowered spec (shorter) dampers.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, those wheels look MEGA!!!!!

I don`t mean to point out things that you probably already know but are you going to re-route the rear brake lines underneath the radius arms and remove the bracket on top?

Good point Minion.
I forgot to do this once and the brake pipe brackets punched holes in my (admittadly somewhat crusty) boot floor. It could have been worse, I could have damaged the brake pipes with obvious conseqences. I always use the longer braided hoses now, which you can attatch to the underside of the radius arm. Take note Slater, though as Minion points out, you probably already knew this. A timely reminder for others though.

Yeh i did those brake lines before i planned to lower it very far. There was quite alot of clearance but il have to recheck it when ive done the arches and got it sitting where i want it. Mini spares do a braded line that replaces both the rubber and solid line at the back so shal probably get some of those.
The cage started as an allybars main hoop and i did the rest myself. Damper mounts I'm not too sure about yet Its a fairly easy mod to do tho il see what happens going to get (read make!) some lowered ones for the front one day.

If I recall correctly, he cut out the sunroof-equipped roof and has another one to weld in.
Top work, that man!

Indeed it had one of those 3/4 length ones in but it was split all over the place so it had to go. The roof skin is attualy quite important to the structure but the cage replaces most of its strangth so i should get awy with just tacking or spotting the new one in and seam sealing the join i hope!

Is that an Astrali "Super-dish" steering wheel? I used to have one on my Minor (in fact it's still in my garage somewhere....)

I'm sure you've seen this one before... ...it has a carbon roof skin that seems to be attached by 3 bolts either side

Slater, that looks very different! I have recently done work for Mini World, could you email me the proposed final spec by email please? Just a basic run down on how it is going to turn out, and if there is an interesting story behind it?

That car rocks my world - which is rare because I'm not usually a big mini fan.
I can't believe you're going to put those wheels on it either, that thing is going to look insane!!!
Nice work!!
