Carbage is a bit of a misnomer really. Yes it does feature some truly appaling attempts at 'Barrying' / 'Jackying' from around the world, but also features some outstandingly whacky machinery and some radical out-side-the-box thinking.
It's just a shame that the typical Tog Gear reader/viewer can't differentiate between the two. I should imagine that pics of such class machinery is submitted by barratt-home-dwelling dullards who drive a company Vectra an whose idea of a dream car is a Mitsubishi Evo MCLVXII or TVR thing.

Got to agree, whislt there is a lot of Wally cars in there, can't people see that some are genuine custom jobs.
There is a DIFFERENCE between Barrying and proper CUSTOMIZING.

Well said Twincam... iunfortunately there are too many 'pundits' out there with, genuinely, no idea what makes a real car - and what doesn't!

I'm sure that Cedric was featured in Custom Car, or at least the guys mate with a white one. What a shame.

I'm sure that Cedric was featured in Custom Car, or at least the guys mate with a white one. What a shame. The pair of Cedrics are pretty well known - Ratdat built a 260C which started life with hydraulics about 1996/97. First it was white, then metalflake blue, then gold (when with a new owner). Featured in Street Machine when white, and later when gold. The candy red 280C was built slightly later by Colin Ware, who was a mate of Ratdat's. He sold the car to a banger racer, and it lives on in much the same guise. It too was feautured in SM, I think.

That Cedric is soooooo cool ...no cupholders though

Those have to have been submitted by good subservient drone types living in their nice cosy little false consciousness, where life is good as long as you follow the other sheep, buy acceptable cars, shop at acceptible places, dream acceptable dreams etc, if they were thinking for theirselves with a head free of propaganda and rubbish they might realise the difference between a bit of good engineering and creativity and a piece of GRP laden traveller trash, but oh well, it's their loss. Each to their own and all that. (Obviously, me being me, I'd rather have them cast aside the rubbish that's in their mind, think for themselves, revolt against normality and subserivience to the people with money, and start living the way they want to live in a country led by the will of the masses, but for now I'll settle for them buggering off back to their acceptable little shoebox house in the suburbs, to think accceptable thoughts privately and give us all peace! ;D)

My mate's got a Vectra LS 1.6. He asked me (in deadly serious tone) the other day how much it would cost to fit a turbo and dump valve to it. It's got hubcaps for Christ's sake!

I hope you are no longer friends with him! Which did he want first, the turbo or the dump valve?

The red one was in SM the month after ratdats. Both these cars caught me at a very influential time in my life ;D ;D ;D
Unfortunatly i never managed to scrape together the money to juice the cortina, but it could still happen if the mood takes me.

I hope you are no longer friends with him! Which did he want first, the turbo or the dump valve? The former to gain the latter, luckily he doesn't seem to know about those hilarious fake whoosh noise making BOVs. Told him to buy a whistle and a can of deoderant instead so he could go FWEEEEEEEE then PSSSH! Or a better car.
