I've got a crack at the top of my windscreen, infront of the rear view mirror. Its just outside of the swept area of the off (drivers) side wiper but is crossed by the pasenger side wiper at the top of its travel. Is this a fail, and is so could it be hidden under a sun strip, or would that also be a fail as the sun strip is under the wipers. Oh and the MOT is at 8.15 tomorow morning Cheers, Mark. Oh and have a go at the MOT testers quiz too.

Sounds like a pass to me, depending how long it is.

Oh well, I should have got it fixed sooner, Its just sort of crept up on me again. If it passes on everything else I'll have to get the hump with myself, but if it would have failed anyway then I'll feel a bit better about it.

My S3's been through two MoTs with a half-moon shaped crack in pretty much the area you describe. MoT man: Al, is that in your line of vision? Me: No, not really. MoT man: Alright.

Have heard a rumour of people passing an MOT with a crack in the swept area by changing the wipers to smaller ones (ie so that swept area no longer goes over the crack). It was actually a tester who told me that so I assume it's true...

unless its in "zone A" which is the bit of screen in front of the driver, this zone goes from top to bottom of the screen which is why those touring car type sun strips most vaux corsa's seem to have (at least they all seem to round here ;D) are a fail
