;D Well here we are mid summer.
2 classics on the drive currently, this is due to 1 being on the road (Herald) and the other not fitting in the garage (Car is too big!) so following a few enqueries I now plan to put up a new garage. the existing 7Ft wide(at the front 5ft at the back) 16Ft long concrete sectional garage is of no use, the herald is a squeeze and the daimler doesn't fit. so plan is to remove this and put up a larger one to house both cars and a workshop area bit..
Current thinking is to build a wooden one, as inspired after seeing Mr T's one last year.
Something like this..
not massive as my garden isin't very wide, about 5/6m deep 4/5m wide, workshop bit to side is only 4m deep as well hence the shape.
The plan is for it to be able to house the daimler (17Ft long!) and when I have some more £ to hand extend the 'car' side forwards to enclose an area for the Herald.
On the bright side, the previous owner concreted the entire rear garden, took ages to dig it out! but I left in a large concrete standing, the base is about 8-12" deep! plently to bold the wooden frame down to.. BUT.. can anyone guide me as to the size of timbers I should be using, I've been told to shiplap the frame and use ply on the inside for added strength, but no-one has been able to guide me in the size's of the uprights / tie members.
Plan to start this in August before the winter rains to keep the cars safe. Any advice welcome!
Cheers
