Just took my daughter to her school prom (makes me feel young ) All her m8s etc were going in the usual poncy white Limos and she didn't want to, so I said I would tart the Landy up for her. A good wash and clean out, some old curtains and duvet covers chucked over the seats and a bit of fluff on the outside I was chauffer, my son(the middle one) was chief door opener and Katy's best m8 Bobby.. One I saw was better still, shame I never had the camera ready, two kids in the back of a vintage saloon, Austin LLandaulette style, very sweet ;D

Very nice. Makes a pleasant change from boring Limos. I like that Landy, looks really cool in that colour.

I went to mine in a DB5.. and yes I had a white tux! lol Sure one of my mates has some pics on facebook.. I'm off to check! That said my little brother managed possibly my favourite ever arrival... He is the one nearest with more hair than me at his age.. but yes somehow he pursuaded someone to loan out 7 mobility scooters to some 16 year olds

Very nice! Overhere the arrival of the kids is a real parade of classic and exclusive cars, very nice to watch and there is ussually a good crowd along the last street. My friends and me we went on our bikes and went into the club by the backdoor. We were already drunk before all the others got in. ;D

My mate said i was a Caravan Utilising Nomadic Tourist - not sure what he means - any ideas?

Friend of mine has a recovery business. His daughter asked him to ratchet strap a sofa onto the bed of his Iveco and drive them to the prom that way. Classic!

Hmmm this yanky 'Prom' fad, will it pass? Well it's been pretty popular to 'arrive in style' as far back as I can remember. Me & my mate went to our 'leaving do' (as it was called back in 1988) in a hearse. When I was teaching (1997-2006), kids used to turn up to theirs in all sorts of things. Most memorable was a helicopter! Landed on the playing field - the whole hall emptied out to watch. My fave had to be the JCB with 4 kids sat on bean bags in the front bucket......and one sat in the little bucket on the back. No photos though - this was before I had a digital camera.

Wow!! Some truly innovative people out there!! Love the lads on the OAP scooters! And the Landy looks class Grunty!
How about unicycles? Or a throne-like chair in the back of a dumper truck? Or ala Mr Bean,on an old sofa on the roof of a battered old Mini? Sky's the limit ;D
