Hi mate.
Spotted this on the viva owners club but forgot to reply. She's stunning, amazing condition! How much do i have to pay you to clean my viva? If you do half as good a job ill be happy as larry!
I agree with you that you should keep her completely original though. How often is it you come across a 40 y/o car in that condition!?
I was going to resist modifying mine and that isn't anywhere near concours like yours (mine does have fewer miles on the clock though, hehe). As it is I gave in to temptation but i'm only doing bolt on mods...apart from a blydenstine spec 1256....then when I can afford insurance probably a redtop or v8 conversion...hmmmm...that is unless i can find a rotting coupe/firenza to do it all to instead.
Oli

HI oli, Just have to clean till you get bored or annoyed and then go at it again, my mates think i've got ocd, cos I shine the arch liners on my escort cossie Maybe I do? Your car sounds good, have you got pics up on the viva site? What gets done to the engine for the blydenstine spec? Its great to have low miles, your lucky I thought mine was low at 44k. I'm selling the redtop just now that I bought for it and decided against it.

Hmm yeah that was the look i was going to go for, but with my hub caps ( not in the photo chop that would take to much time) i like the look of the wires with the white walls. Cheers dude, wish i had/ could use photoshop. Nice to see what it could look like. but i'd never touch it.

The most cleaning I've done in one go probably amounts to around 4 hours of labour, then I get bored. But that still wasnt enough time to properly clean in the boot and in the engine bay. I do polish my tailpipe and backbox though There are pics in the garage section on the viva site, and I have a thread on here about it which needs updating, so I'll do that soon and link it in my sig. It is a good feeling to show off your low miles, however my Viva is my daily so the miles have been creeping up from just under 38k to just under 42k now There are some on the viva site that have sub 10k For Blydenstein spec he recommends a stage 3 'H' head, which opens inlet valves to 36.5mm and a good gas flow job, plus pushing compression up to 10:1. Exhaust valves and valve springs are kept standard. That should add about 10bhp onto the flywheel figure. Then I'll be putting a Weber 40dcoe on and if I can ever find them, a 4 branch exhaust manifold and a dtv cam. Already had to pay out for a new exhaust thanks to the original literally disintegrating lol. retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=readersrides&thread=58743&page=1#806290
