you could still give it the treatment! I know this is an eighties one but shows hydraulics would work with fwd ;D bet you could get some colossal rear lift, chain the rear and get a mad dog leg on the go!!!

You cant tell us youve bought it on E.bay.com and not spill the beans on what the plan is! Will it ever see British soil? Be great if it did. Theres quite a few yank airbases over your way, maybe you could get friendly and blag a lift on a B52 or something.

That's brilliant! Will it be coming back to the UK with you?
If not, those grotty OHIO STATE floor mats will make a nifty souvenir.

Wow, id never have guessed that as the story behind all this. Fair play.
I wonder what the sellers thought when a U.K registered buyer bought their car. "typical dreamer timewaster" possibly.

That sounds like an epic adventure! I assume a pretty awesome photo thread will appear on RR at some point?
If the Eldorado proves a trusty steed are you going to bring it back to Blighty afterwards? or is that just stupid? ;D

My main concern is that I'll end up broken down in the middle of the desert and the only person who can help is some sandy mental with underpants like a plasterer's radio and a penchant for British accents.
But back to the car:
First off, a massive thankyou to Norm, aka Team Blitz, who has gone above and beyond to help me arrange the Eldo' - a true legend.
Secondly, it's in the garage as we speak. I've hooked up some new Cooper tyres (which should hopefully cure some of the steering pull) but it's going to need plenty more. Power steering fluid's leaking everywhere (hopefully an accessible pipe or something equally simple/inexpesnive), the AC doesn't work, nor does the heater and the rear suspension's a bit collapsy.
In short - well retroplegic. But we have the technology.
Tune in again soon. And naturally, it'll be shipped home if it's not complete rubbish.

Dunno why people are so bothered about these being FWD, they're hardly a trackday weapon! They're the ultimate in old giffer luxury. Nice work Matt Jones! GR8 4 BADLY PARKING AT DENNYS/BEING PULLED OVER FOR DUI Don't forget the "Veteran" plates. Yeah, but how funny would it be to see one go up a drag strip?

Basically, it's worn out, thirsty enough to keep the Sultan of Bruni happy, has borderline reliability, will be chuffing hot / cold to be in, and probably get you either shot, abducted, or stranded in the middle of a desert......
LOVE IT!!!!! Gook luck. Hope the beast gets imported. Please don't re-paint it. The patina and wheel trims are great!!
