hi I'm new to this and thought i would give it a go i recently brought a 1303 beetle from wales witch i thought would last me for4 year to come then 40 miles from wales on the way back there was a big cloud of smoke and the engine started to slow ie sieze due to over heating in such a way to melt hole in the head after a pain to get her back to torquay she was home then as well as needin new engine me and boyfreind and his boss dug deep in the car and found all major problems ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) due to finding out this was one of the ones that love to rust we found the heater channels where none existant under the stonechiped duck tape and that the floors where like a patch work quilt and more holes than a collender and if that wasnt bad anoth we found filler holdin the door posts to the duck tape heater channels after all this i started to wonder was this all worth it ![](http://i715.photobucket.com/albums/ww157/brittanysetter_photos/IMG_2849.jpg)

well...
if it's worth it to you yes. all depends on having a good person to do the work.
1303/2 and later beetles are less sought after and cheaper to get than early ones. but they are not making them any more, as a VW owner i would say if it's possible, save it.

the rust is quite bad but don't want to see a beetle be scraped and rot away and just gonna bite the bullet and get it done ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Tricky reading that without punctuation but I adore 1303 Beetles (big screen FTW!) so if you can save her, good on you!

lots of work there, good on you for keeping another one on the road! I can guarantee you'll need more than just those panels too! Keep at it though! I'd recommend getting the thicker gauge pan halves from Heritage though, they are much better than the klokkerholm stuff
