Hi everyone,
I have been debating whether to put up this car as its my daily driver (well my wife drives it daily I have a astra van for work :![:))](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cheesy.png)
I first brought a few years ago to break it as I was going to use the engine and gearbox in my saab project.

However my daily driver before this was a red K10 micra that after a fair bit being spent on it including a new clutch. managed to destroy the new clutch within 4000 miles. So that went straight to the scrap yard and just to see put this audi in for a MOT. It only needed new brake pads a new tyre at the rear and wiper blades to pass.
Since then it has been a relible runner, with minor problems. I have done some bits and bobs to it, it needed a new accelerator pedal as the old one had come off the arm (quite common for Audis I think). New choke cable as it had snapped off at the dash end and was pulled out by a piece of string.
I had to replace the locks when some thieving toe rags got into our house and stole my wifes bag with the car keys in it.![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png)
I also replaced the headlining as it was wrecked with cigarette smoke stains and the back half was missing. This meant I had to block the sunroof aperature as the sunroof itself encroached on the headspace by about an inch. So I silkaflexed a piece of powdercoated metal on. Not pretty but it works!

Lastly I have replaced the rocket cover gasket as it was leaking oil quite badly and I have also replaced the carb rubber mounting as it was perished.
Not too bad for a car that cost £150 and has given two years of motoring! have prob spent about £500 all in on it.
Future plans are too fix the only bit of rust on the car, which is the red oxide patch, may get someone to do this as painting is not my forte

I am not sure what to do with it, I am really attached to it now and I just love working on it compared to the horrors of modern cars.
I like the steels and balloon tyres not sure why. Plus I quite like the standard height, the way it looks like its on stilts! I am tempted to try and fit hub caps, similar to cop car American ones? Would that look good? Not sure of an 80's car with hub caps

The black mamba is what my wife calls it, and she loves driving around in the car, to the extent I may struggle to get it back!
Edit: Just remembered it will need a new gearbox as it has started whining but am waiting til we can't cover the noise up with the radio!
Also further plans will be bike carbs as I have a set in the garage
