I need to fit a new balljoint in the drop arm on my Landy which means removal of said drop arm.
Nut was really tight so with the spanner wedged against the chassis a m8 started the engine and turned the steering a bit, one undone nut
next was a puller to get the arm off. My everyday pullers are 2 or 3 leggers but they were not big enough and I swear I could hear the arm laughing at me
So of down to storage and came back with 2 spare sets of pullers, both 3 leggers!
One set too small so I set about the modding of set 2.
A nice set of SP hydraulic jobbies
carrier for 3 legs with nice bit of tin bent roughly to size
drilled hole each side, shoulder on bolt means 2 different sizes
lump of steel just the perfect size ;D
Just glue it in place
Hey presto 2 legs ;D
the bit of steel is to fit between the unused slots just as precautionary bracing.
I now need to visit the lathe to make an extension for the push rod as the legs are way too long
