The weekend kinda dragged and we didnt get half as much done on the 411 as we would have liked. However the rear passenger corner is now all sorted. And it wasnt fun! now rolling on the new rims, still needs to have a couple more coils out the spring, and the wheels need detailing again .... The bodywork on the beetle began during last week, and it had progressed way more than i envisaged! passenger side window gutter - BEFORE AFTER Drivers side - BEFORE AFTER Gutter section - BEFORE AFTER two of the inner arches, and the front valance are all done too. This is how the arches looked BEFORE AFTER as you can see everything is still very much work in progress ... but progress is being made!

I love the way you have marked her up as if going under the plastic surgeons knife.
Good work.

cheers for the compliments guys sorry - to clarify - i have not done the work on the beetle. Its my baby and i know my limits, so i get guys who i regard as 'the best' to do the repair work on her. The gutter is made of two sections that meet and are then bent down to form the gutter. You can unfold this, weld the repair, and re fold the gutter. I know mine was a lot harder than this - when he started probing everything kept falling away by the sounds of it. Not a nice job, certianly the area i was most worried about. I suspected him to leave it till last and i got there saturday and it was all done!!

That really is nice work. I've done plenty of similar stuff on the Celica, but it never looked liked that. Sure a little grinding/stopper/paint hides a repair, but that is real class. In a previous life I was into VW's (even went to the 1st Bugjam) always loved T4's That 2 door, estate, rear engined thing, just never made sense - probably why I loved them.
