Welcome to the forum! That's a cracking looking car too.
The rust on your front valance doesn't look too bad really, you might be able to get away with rubbing it down (with wet and dry), putting some Kurust on it and then painting over it. Just make sure you remove all traces of the rust before you paint.
With leaf springs there are a couple of ways of lowering them depending on the exact setup of your car. You can remove one (or more) of the leaves in the spring to make it sit lower, or you can get lowering blocks to make the car sit lower on the spring.
I'm sure someone on here will know the best way to help you with both of your questions!

Did you buy this off some guy just south of Manchester? He's had a couple of nice ones, forget his ebay name though.
Looks nice, is it a manual gearbox?

Welcome and that is a sweet entrance to the RR family..... looks a real cracker. As said above - removing leaves from the rear springs or lowering blocks will do the trick at the rear. If you're stuck - take a look at other cars with the same design (escrotes, cparis etc....) and the same principles apply. Neighbour has one of this model, lovely little thing.
Good luck!

what i know from the bigger brother, the swift, the rear has only 1 or 1,5 leaf, so taking one out is not an option (if this setup is the same). Nice car and welcome to the family!

I bought it from someone who bought it from the guy cust outside of Manchester, for almost half the price he paid. Its only got 42000miles on the clock. Thanks for the tips.. ive rub down the worst affected rusty areas and treated them with krust.. shall see how its comes out. Need to find some paint next. your right about the leaf... only one... don't think it would handle the same without it ;D ill need to have a real look around this car as there is quite a few bits of technology on it which ive not encountered on a car before... Thanks for all the comments tho.

I own a first gen Swift, and lowering the rear is not really possible, there isn't enough room above the axle to give room for travel in the suspension.
you could fit shocks off a swift, since they are similar and maybe a bit stiffer.. but there's not much available

Very nice car, never seen one of these up close before. Looks like it shares some bits with Suzuki SJs aswell. So far i've spotted: foglight, front indicator / sidelights, coil, possibly the radiator?
