Just stumbled across this whilst looking for engine info, thought you might like... I can't read Swedish to get more info. Doubt that's a Mercedes V8, I'd guess at a big US V8. I wonder if it's still around? Found here.

Interesting - I just assumed it was running a Chev or Ford. Didn't know it had (or used to have) a Benz V8 in it! What info do you have on it Cocacolasan?

IIRC it ran a big Pontiac based engine. Rico Anthes ran a Mercedes funny car. Matt

I've been doing a bit of sleuthing. The car's team has a website but I can't get it to work, apart from a powerpoint presentation (which is very informative, even if it is in Swedish!) Website is here: Popcorn Racing with a link to the powerpoint file. The other links don't seem to work. Also found this pic: I stumbled through the powerpoint thing. This is what I found out, without speaking a word of Swedish... The car runs a Chevy Small block, 341cu in, 800kw/h and 700Nm of torque. I can't really tell a lot else, but there is more info there. There are more photos of the car in the file but I'm not clever enough to be able to grab them from the program and host them in photobucket. ;D

A healthy 1087 BHP and... 516lb/ft? That seems a bit low considering the BHP figures. Maybe my maths is wrong... or my Swedish... Neither are my strong point! ;D Any of our Swedish brothers care to help out with translation of the powerpoint thing?

Sweet. Although I wish people used Benz V8s more often. There was a guy who was snapped at Santa Pod with a home-built supercharged 560SEC, I believe. Anybody got pics?

Wow, I'd like to hear more about that! As for not sticking with Benz motors, I suppose if you're serious about power and performance it makes sense to opt for a Yank V8. I dread to think how much it would cost to get 1000 brake plus from an M117.

'Tis true indeed. They're bastid pricey lumps.
The supercharged Benz was at Ultimate Street Car in 2008. It's got split BBS wheels and a slightly revolting Testarossa-style body kit. Blue, IIRC. Perm might have some shots. What you got, scribble hair?

I'm sure there was a black SEC convertible with a 6/71 blown Merc engine featured in Street Machine back in the day. Was on big polished billets iirc.
