Well I finally gave up biking and sold my 650 Bandit about ten days ago, never been with out a bike since I passed my test in 1976 and decided that i'm a bit past it now  ......Then along came this..  ;D a 1991 400 Bandit sling shot. It jumps out of second gear so my mate is changing the engine for me as it's easier than stripping out the original one. it now looks like this.  I'm going to paint the wheels and fit new tyres and tart up a few odd bits, hopefully if he gets a wriggle on it'll be on the road for the rest of summer and autumn and then a strip down in the winter to really tidy it up. Well I was an ex biker for about 5 days ;D |

pics need sorting! i remember one time after a crash a scar on my knee cap meant i couldn't ride a bike for 3 days, it wer a scary 3 days!

it's fixed! is it the variable valve one? Not a vvt, they have a red cam cover...the replacement motor isn't either, not a bad thing, i've heard vvt is a pain to fix. I haven't ridden it yet, i hear they go quite well. |

Used to have one of these, great bikes just needed the suspension to be a bit stiffer, kept bottoming out especially with a pillion. Enjoy...Love 'em.

My mate has fitted engine then we spent rest of day bolting everything back together and it runs good ;D road test later and if gear box ok it's out with the wheels for paint and tyres.    Please excuse dodgy pics only had my phone. |

I had one of these (VVC import) for about 3 years and never had a problem with it, cracking bikes but no spare gearbox I'm afraid!
