Five litres of mojo booster... It's a 5.0 V8 from a Mercedes 500SE (W126) courtesy of Bladerunner30. I also bought the auto-box (even though I'm still having 'Nam flashbacks after the BMW one...) and the limited slip diff. Woohoo! ;D

Thanks chaps! ;D I'm pretty pleased - I needed something to pick me up and make me get on with the project again and I think this is just the thing to do it! These engines are a lot wider than I remembered them to be... going to be fun and games squeezing it under the bonnet!

Excellent move dean, needs throwing in post haste with the bare minimum of silencing in the exhausts

I've never managed to figure out what parts the W107 and W114/5 shared. I know the 107 is based on the 114 chassis, and the front crossmember / suspension is the same (I think). I need to study this more. Would be great if I could source SL bits to make it fit.

I think the rear suspension is also the same although never got it confirmed other than hearsay, i did chase several rusty wrecks on ebay to try it out but even the rotten ones seem to always have 500 quids worth of spares on em! lol

Yep, might assemble a group together to come play V8's soon! Need to sort an engine crane. A big one. ;D I think the rear suspension is also the same although never got it confirmed other than hearsay, I did chase several rusty wrecks on ebay to try it out but even the rotten ones seem to always have 500 quids worth of spares on em! lol Yeah there's some clown breaking one on eBay at the moment - £700 for a front bumper, £45 for an old airbox. I despair! I do have a W115 and W107 workshop manual now though, so I'll be doing some comparisons.

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.
