sturmey-archer! thats not a name you hear very often anymore.I spent my early childhood building junkers and scramblers with my Grandad from unwanted parts.he was an engineer and used to rebuild wheels with sturmey 3 speeds,he swore by them.I still have his 1930's 'SUN' gentlemen's cycle at my mother's,its got rod brakes with leather blokes and needs new forks but,it looks very simular to that.

how cool is that bike I didnt know they made the AG hub with 4 speed.
Ive got some old bikes. None are in such nice condition though. Ive got a Hercules Balmoral. Well I had 2, but left one at my last work. Wonder if its still there. I never rode that bike.

I think both the Superbe Sports Tourist, and the Boulevard Tourist were sold in the UK as the price lists for those bikes on Shelson Brown's website are in pounds, shillings, and pence

Well I had to get a new tyre for this bike yesterday, and last night I took the bike for a cycle around the coast, and I have to say that this bike is by far much more comfortable than any other bike I have ever had. Its even more comfortable than my suspensioned Giant bike I do have to point out though, that you do seem to end up signing songs from 1950s British films while riding it ;D

I biked to town yesterday evening on my 1980s Raleigh Caprice 3 speed roadster. I got the 5 miles there, 90 seconds faster than my early 90s Marin Hawkhill MTB had done in the morning. Although i kept on forgeting where the gear levers were, and what they did, on the Marin. Only used that bike a few times. I'm used to proper thumb shifters, not rapid fire I just did 3 miles on the Caprice. Half of that off road. Think its better than MTBs off road.
