so, you couldnt get a vw reference in to every paragraph???
;D
i think what you say is valid but if you have hubcaps on yer mini cooper say and take them off - thats modded or you can spend 40k on an e type to restore it and add updated mechanicals
but using one set of rules for modding say bosozuku on for example a singer vogue :eek
would anyone be brave enuff?
i think the mallard look on a volvo sled custom would an idea tho

u really are obsessed with this arent you mate!! ;D hmmmm - volkswagen beetle, cal-look inspired, billet rims - did u have something in mind?? lmfao @ lime green tho! its a good article. it does make sense. Personally i think its a case of bending rules, rather than breaking them. Taking a silimar rule from another scene and using that instead of the traditional. Also, you forgot to mention books. I only started reading volkswagen books a few years back, and i look back now and think how much easier it would have been to plan things if i had just bought some books!!! also, if its written for someone who is 'new' to the scene you could do with some links and pictured examples of what u are gibbering on about ;D

theres a typo in the last paragraph. i assume its supposed to be "the" "At the end of the day you can have as many rules, broken rules and influences as you like, HE real reason to modify a car is to reflect your personality." just thought it give you the heads up/be annoying

Rules are for those that perhaps don't have inspiration. We all follow some rules here and there, there are a few great modifiers and car builders that set new trends. Posies, Troy Trepanier, Boyd - just a few hot rod names, but all builders of some truly inspiring cars.
I've not really followed rules with my car, just done things I like, and that look right aesthetically.
Get building!

Good article, think people should just do what they want to there cars and not purposily try and stick to one style. If they feel like doing something a bit different but have never seen it done to there particular brand of styling then they should do it, even if people are telling them not to. What it comes down to in the end is that its your car and you should do what you want to do whatever others say.

Ah, caught! I'll be cooking that rmad shaped birdie for tea!
Don't feel left out if you're not 'creative'. Just because I occassionally wear a black roll neck doesn't mean I have a monopoly on good ideas. Even the best get inspiration by looking around them. No-one can really create from nothing. Everything we see can influence. The best thing to do is open your mind. Look beyond cars for inspiration as well, ideas are all around.

I've been inspired, one of the Mini's and the 106 has to go bare metal!
I can see my xsi in bare metal with solid proline wheels usually found on beetles, bronze polycarb windows and a roll cage. Would that look the part or what?
