Another of my collection that is having to go due to lack of space. I bought this from a RR member about a year and a half ago and have done very little with it since. In fact from mid-December until last weekend it stood untouched in the corner of a mate's barn. I went to it on Saturday, turned the key and away it went first go, didn't even need a jump start. I then drove it the 15 miles to my garage, and apart from a squeaking fanbelt at low revs and the steering getting a bit heavy through the faster corners due to the tyres having lost a bit of air, it behaved impeccably.
It's pretty solid for a 31-year-old Renault - only grot I've found that could potentially be a worry come MoT time is at the ends of the sills where they join the rear arches. The rest of the car is all sound. It is a bit scruffy-looking, but I like it like that.
The interior is black vinyl and is in fairly good nick, and all the electrics seem to work apart from the fuel gauge, although the indicators flash rather slowly so it might need a flasher unit for the test depending on how fussy the tester is. And it has no rear wiper fitted at the moment.
It drives well enough - I drove it home from South London when I bought it and it never missed a beat. Only observations are that it has a noisy wheel bearing (offside rear as far as I can tell) and I think the load-sensing valve on the brakes may need looking at as under hard braking it tends to lock the rear wheels up earlier than it should. There's nothing that would stop it being driven to wherever though. It also goes surprisingly well for a 1289cc estate car. I actually really enjoy driving it, but it's now going to be in the way of a rather more interesting Renault that should be joining the fleet in the near future, and I can't justify paying storage on it forever.
