Here we have my lovely retro mk1 golf - very sad to see it go, but I need another mk2 in my life!
Make: Volkswagen
Model: Golf 1.5 GL auto
Year/Reg: 1983 'Y' reg
Colour: Satin Brown
Interior colour: Tan/Brown
Mileage: 105k
MOT: October 2009
Tax: June '09 I think
Good points: resprayed satin chocolate brown, lovely satin finish inside all door gaps and boot too, but not bonnet, smoothed bootlid (wiper and washer holes) lowered on fully adjustable coilovers and currently running 14" gti steels with great tyres all round, chrome on window rubbers and grille all in great nick, chrome fuel filler flap, black leather momo 'wheel, very clean interior, tan and brown doorcards, brown parcel shelf, brown dash and undertrays, tan carpets and seats all in great condition 3 speed auto 'box changes smoothly and without fuss, kick down works, allthough being a 1.5 it isn't a rocket ship! Having said that it keeps up with modern traffic with ease and is a dream through the corners! (and no rubbing!) Gutters, scuttle and sills etc all in very good rust-free condition! Taken me cross-country to a number of VW shows and trips this year with no trouble at all
Bad points: The exhaust is blowing, which is annoying and a bit loud when driving, and I haven't had time to fix it yet - will try to before sale. The horn-push is missing and again I haven't had time to get and fit one yet... There's a small bubble in the glovebox lid, doesn't bother me, but can apparently be sorted with a pin... Passenger side rear door has a slight crease in it, as you can see from the photos, but it's below the swage line so isn't that noticeable, also there are a few light rust spots on the bottom of the doors, and a few blemishes around the arches, but nothing major oh and the rear bumper centre section needs painting black to match the front!
Location: Cardiff, South Wales
Price: £1100 ono
PX: 2 door Mk2 gti or T25 ideally, but anything considered...
