I'll start the ball rolling. Most of these are barely retro but I can say that I don't see them very often. I've listed them alphabetically ... feel free to edit and add to the list ... or perhaps even question my sanity because there's dozens of a particular model 'round your neck of the woods. ;D I tried to stick to mainstream stuff from the 1990's that would have been reasonably common at least, or at most, so prevalent you would have been sick looking at them! I've bunged an asterisk on those which would have satisfied the latter criteria. * Citroen AX Citroen Xantia Daewoo Nexia Fiat Brava, Marea (it's not been that long but they're not exactly plentiful)* Fiat Cinquecento * Ford Fiesta Mk.3 ('89-97?) * Ford Mondeo Mk.1 Ford Orion (Mk.2 never mind Mk.1 !) Ford Probe Ford Scorpio * Honda Civic 'EG' (5th gen. 1992-1995) - there were millions of these about but now .. Honda Prelude 'BB4' (4th gen. 1992-1996) Hyundai S Coupe Mazda MX-6 Mazda Xedos (never a big seller but can't remember when I last saw one recently)Mercedes 190 (maybe a bit older than most here but a 'seldom seen' nevertheless)Nissan 100NX * Nissan Primera (1st gen.) * Nissan Sunny (the mid-90's one) * Peugeot 205 (even the GTi isn't that common now)* Peugeot 405 (sooo many you thought they'd never be scarce!)Renault 5 GT Turbo * Renault 19 Saab 9000 * Suzuki Vitara (1st Gen.) * VW Passat B3 (1989-1993) ... seems to be far fewer than a few years agoI never really look at Vauxhalls much so I can't remember if they're disappearing or not. ;D The most diminished of the formerly very prevalent brands might be Rover (helped by BMW of course). Apart from Land Rovers and Minis and 25s I can't say that I see them often.

There's not that many Cinquecentos around now because bad electrics and some odd mechanical issues tend to get them. That and the large market share of the 899cc model were owned either by young people or really old people (cheap to insure, cheap on fuel), and a lack of maintenance got them.
Ours is just beginning to get to that age where it needs some fairly major money spent every MoT to get it to pass (despite being galvanised and washed on a regular basis, it's rotting out around the rear arches in some of the better designed mud-traps that are hard to get at with the hosepipe) and mechanically it's getting worn, having done 145,000 miles. 100,000 of those were put on by me, mostly wide-open throttle...
The gearbox whines, the selector bushes have fallen apart, the clutch linkage is questionable, the steering is getting stiff, the bushes all round need replacing, it needs new dampers and the electrics are starting to do what they want.
Beyond that, it's still going strong, the engine doesn't burn any oil (Odd for a Panda engine) and still somehow manages to return an average 65mpg being driven around town. We've yet to give up on it, but the little issues that rapidly turn into bigger issues seems to have seen a lot of them to a typically Fiat early demise.

Well I've got an AX GT.....original Mk1 in 100% unmolested form and still going strong! I know that all three of my old Cinquecento Sportings are still around and doing good service (never had any reliability/electrical or mechanical issues with any of them) Personally I'd say that well over half of that list I see pretty regularly. I'm not talking 'tripping over them' but they are certainly still around.....well in the Bristol area at any rate. I'm pretty confident that I could go for a 30 min drive and come back with at least 30% of that list. Maybe Bristol is a bit of an anomoly, maybe it's stuck in a bit of a time-warp....or maybe it's just quite a cool retro city?

You don't see many Volvo 440 these days, if I am thinking of the right one, the wedge shaped one. The turbos were a very good car and quick aswell. I sold a Cinquecento last year.
Cheers,
Stu.

I don't remember the last time I saw a Tipo.
The thing with all these is they're not being killed because they're in a terminal state, but because nobody can be bothered, so you get nice cars crushed because they need a clutch, etc.

I saw what looked like a Mint Mk3 Fiesta on an F-Reg. Probably the first of the mk3s ?
I see lots of sheddy last-of-the-line Escorts though. I hate 'em.

lancia thema and sao penza could be added to the list. Theres two white Themas near Linlithgow slowly turning green... impossiblydaft - I pass a battered Tipo en route to work, losing the battle to keep its door bottoms but still going. Spotted a clean diesel one on the back of a Henry Gray lorry last week, off to meet its DVLA approved maker...

E90 Corollas are still pretty common. There's three on my road (including mine), sometimes you get a wave if you pass one too.
Mine is due to need its first bit of welding fairly soon (patches at the back of the sills)

Not uncommon, but the mk3 Cavalier is starting to become scarce. They're really good cars, in the top three Vauxhall have ever made I think, and they're really tidy and don't rust on the body. Got a feeling they're going to be gone in five years time as they only really fetch 150 quid, I rate them highly (better than the Vectra A,B and C).

Agree * Citroen AX - GT's and GTi's in standard condition are rare but the rarest of the english sold models is the GT500 limited edition and the GT5 mk1 and especially the GT5 mk2. Also fairly rare are the GT spi's. Unfortunately no exact figures for any but having been on the Ax owners club for 5 years i've seen many come and go * Ford Fiesta Mk.3 ('89-97?) - definately don't see many pre face lift (93-) any more, mines tucked away in the garage but rust killed em all quickly (front panels/arches and the achille heel the fuel filler panel!) * Ford Mondeo Mk.1 - especially the Si models in Citrine Yellow or the ones with the optional body kit that looked nice. Ford Orion (Mk.2 never mind Mk.1 !) - along with Vauxhall Belmonts/Astra saloon probably because they were the joy riders favourites! * Renault 19 - agree with this only see a smattering of these now and very rarely a phase 1 or Chamade i'll add one or two more to the list as well Peugeot 605 - Never see these any where!!! Renault 21/Savanna - these faded as the MPV boomed. Fiat Tipo/Croma/Tempra - the only survivors tend to be Tempra estates, seen a couple of them but otherwise nada also Phase 2 Uno's.
