	In Jan i was notfied by Surrey Police for going through a red light It turned out i had stopped at the red light and left a second too early when the light had changed to amber for 2.5 seconds I was horrifed ,serveral weeks passed and then a summons for a court appearance for above offence . Though thats bloody strong ,i thought it would be a fixed penalty (£60 ) and may be three pionts . I decided to get advice and sent a letter in saying i work in the motor trade as a manager and need i clean licence for my work ( Which is true ) I couldnt make the court date so i sent the form off by post ( guilty plea) This was being read on the 12th May .The court day came and went and then a letter from dvla asking me to send my licence off for points to be added (don't know how many ) Then today a court letter saying the fine is £175 ,then costs of £15 and further cost £43 for court fees total £233 ,just for going early from the lights Still don't know how many points ,!!!!!!!and get this got to be paid by the 26th May -5 days from now My insurance just about to go through the roof

	Red and amber (waiting to go) is still a red light. Amber alone (warning to stop) is not. Lots of accidents happen cos two people jump the lights at the same time. Still sucks though

	You say this was in Surrey, was it by any chance around, Dorking/Leatherhead, that sort of area? I say that because it's one of Surreys main Police training areas and they seem to get you on anything possible, although i'm not condoning going through a red light. A few years back i (foolishly) stopped on Zigzags so my mates could get a kebab at 12.15pm. Police pulled up behind and said is that your car, i was standing beside it. I said yes, he said would you like some points, i miss heard and thought he said have i got any points 3 points and £60 fine. I asked in the Police station could i contest it in court, they said yes, BUT i could end up with more points! How is that a fair justice system, surely you should either get the points or be let off? Not a winge as such, just putting my point across, have some pics ;D
