As seen in the Haynes Mini performance Manual ;D Basically I just just drilled the pop rivets holding all the chrome slats on a standard grille, fixed the chrome side trims back on and then cut a piece of mesh to fit. You might need something to back it up though, otherwise you see straight through to all the mucky bits behind. I used a piece of GRP painted matt black - it did have 2 large holes in it for cooling but I`ve now changed it to another with smaller holes that aren`t so noticeable.

I take it you "white " That`s the trouble with having a white car, looks great when it`s clean but it`s a pain keeping it there ... Smoothed boots are ok, it belongs to a mate of mine actually I`d just be paranoid about someone bumping it while parking

Sorry - smoothed boots are 'Barry'. What is the point of smoothing the bootlid then hanging the reg plate skew-wiff off the bumpers and sticking on a wobbly caravan reg plate light? Like de-badging your tailgate then sticking a massive 'Saxo' sticker on the rear window.

I really like the way it looks as standard to be honest! I reckon what would be really cool would be to restore it, but respray it the same colour, re-apply the now rather funky retro 'City' graphics and stripes, but optimise everything you can't see, ie: nice 1380 under the bonnet, Maniflow LCB but with a nice twin box RC40 for retained stealth, Cooper S/early GT 7.5 discs and callipers dropped a little on Adjusta-rides, totally optimised suspension (can't beat a bit of negative camber ) but best of all the original steel 10" wheels and trims retained but with some seriously sticky rubber on them, or maybe 10" Cooper reverse rims. What a little corker that would be! I am sort of considering going the stealth route later on with mine, not sure yet! Just an idea anyway, would raise a few eyebrows for sure!

keep it white with the city graphics, then paint the roof black and put some wider steels on it...

There`s 12" steel replicas of the old S rims in one of the Mini mags this month - doesn`t actually say who makes then just that they`re Japanese

Chris (Snapdragon), I seriously doubt your ever going to manage to make your car look stealthy! You couldn't live without your dishy rims and 70's flares!
Reverse rims rule!! Was thinking of running chromed reverse rims with no hub caps on my next Mini, or is that too pimp?
