I was out on the drive this morning polishing my turd when one of my neighbors came home, a moment later another neighbor walked up past me saying "Alex has told me the bumper is missing of my car!"
Sure enough, some cheeky git has come in the night and removed said bumper, its a Corsa, about 3 years old. They left the numberplate lying beside the car. There is evidence of a screwdriver being used to prise the bumper away, it looks as though they had a go at a wing mirror too. The grill is all torn in half.
She said she heard some commotion in the street during the night but had assumed it was Alex arriving home from an evening in in the pub.
I reckon maybe some kid has pranged his Mums car, panicked and tried to fix the damage before the morning.

there was a spate of corsa and late festa lights being stolen near me, they caught the 2 kids responsible, and all the bits had been sold via ebay - about 40 pairs of lights in total - they both got a comunity sentence ( sweeping up leaves) and no-one was compensated

Christ that was a Vauxhaul Astra. That is a bit curse word though...with the sentence mentioned by AutoFive...they really should have been compensated.

When I worked for a Car and Van hire company we had someone steal the rear shocks off an LDV Convoy minibus. Took us ages to work out why it was so bouncy!
Once went to pick up a Nissan Almera to find someone had smashed a window (after denting the A pillar and cracking the front screen), ripped half the dash board apart and stolen the stereo. Moron hadn't noticed the keys above the sun visor though so at least I could drive it back!
Once had someone steal keys to a service customers car during the day then come back and get it at night, only to find it had been locked in our compound. They used it to push another couple of cars out the way before taking it out through the fence. Unfortunately the fence was one of these steel, straveller topped welded ones that is concreted into the ground every 6 feet or so. Mauled evcery panel of the car (Alfa 156), ripped the mirrors off, kebabed the roof, and burnt the clutch out! Was found abandoned 400 yards up the road!

Someone i know removed a sierra radiator from underneath a car on a driveway in the middle of the night after damaging his own while miles from home, not really the right thing to do but i cant help being mildy amused by he thought of the owner driving off in the morning, realising something wasnt right and popping the bonet only to find the rad not there. :S

I got in my Granada one pitch black morning, half asleep, turned the key, selected reverse and the car fell off the bricks the wheel thieves had left it on. Had to laugh, though,as the car was in the garage at the time!

An old chap I know told me about stuff he pinched decades back when he was a bit of a chancer. He isnt the type to spout bull, so I reckon they are true. His aquisitions include a propshaft from a Capri - he needed one for his own car at short notice so pinched one at night from a car parked in his town. I can just imagine the owner trying to pull away the next morning! and a complete engine and box from a mini. Seemingly the mini owner owed money to this chaps friend and had no intention of paying so they hatched a plan to relieve him of his tuned cooper engine. Again at night, they backed a van up to the mini, whipped the bonnet off, fired up a pair of oxy torches and used them to cut through everything - wiring, driveshafts, engine mounts, gear selector etc. the two of them used a rope and a beam to hoik the engine out into the back of the van and away they went. He reckons it took less than 3 minutes in total!

wotcha all, i worked at a commercial coach builders and we had a brand new volvo tractor unit in for repainting in someones fleet colours on a wednesday afternoon and when i arrived for work the following morning at 6am i noticed that the fence next to our workshop had been pulled down and there was nuts and bolts everywhere, I had a look around and found that the thieving travellers had nicked the complete exhaust system off the volvo and this thing is massive and very heavy. We found out why when we had to replace it, It was over £6000 due to the huge cat
