If they're BMW 4 stud they'll be 100mm, I'd say they'd fit yours but others may use the '100mm is not 4" ' arguement.
It's likely that the seller has measured to the next hole rather than the opposite one...this would give about 3" as a reading.

<EDIT> Rmad beat me to it ;D Let me know if you are going to bid on them, because I will if you don't as they are only in Essex I bet he is measuring hole to hole rather than PCD If they were fitted to BMW then they will be 4x100 HTH Dom Ps did you get the other emails ? Would be good to send a summary/thank you to everyone ;D

(4.5" and 4 1/4" respectively) It gets a bit wierd with 100mm though, as those clever Europeans were already using 100mm before we went metric and there is a small difference (look on a ruler - it's about 1mm).

well the wheels on it now are 100mm and the holes had to be massaged a little to make them fit so i assume ill get away with it.

still on the bay, should have kept my mouth shut RR bidding war on the cards ;D it says on the advert 100mm PCD but he had them fitted on a mini? i though minis were 101mm then again if mini wheels would fit that opens up a whole world of wheel options ;D (runs to garage to try mini wheels on shuv) EDIT - just tried a 10" mamba on the back and it goes over the studs bt the studas are not central in the hole. I'm wondering if i could get away with tapered nuts to pull everything straight

If youve got your heart set on them, i wont enter the bidding fray

Chevettes are definitely 100mm PCD. The underpinnings are Opel, not Vauxhall. Other cars with a 100mm PCD:- 4-bolt BMW 4-bolt water cooled VW/Audi 4-bolt Renault K-series Rovers '90's onward Nissans and believe it or not, sidevalve Morris Minors ( though I reckon 3.5X14" steels probably aren't top of your list.......). They also have metric threads in the engine.
