Exactly as it says..... 10 days ago I pinched my left index finger in a ratchet strap at work, the resultant blood blister was big, but not unusual. However..... By the weekend it had swollen to the point where it had broken through the skin.....and being a wagon driver, and with the offending item being on my gearchanging hand....you can guess the rest. Mucho claret. So yesterday I visited my GP, who cauterized it with Silver Nitrate. The yellow bit is scorched skin. The grey/brown bit is cremated flesh. Did it hurt? Only excrutiatingly, yes.... Today, and it looks a million times worse.... ...but it's actually healing. The brown stuff's all crispy. like Special K. And the red bit in the middle's hard, even if it looks like a bit of Jordan's Country Crisp. Yummy. Apparently the next stage is for all the crispy bits to shrivel, and drop off. Can you wait for that one? ;D ;D

I hope the ratchet was used on something suitably retro and uber cool... I refuse to be injured unless working on one of my rides ;D

I had to have silver nitrate on my knee recently. Its good stuff but dangerous in the wrong places. It worked wonders though (my graze was over granulating so was protruding, it was kinda gross).

I usually find a Stanley knife comes in very handy at times like these........I have 'operated' on myself many times in the past using a Stanley and a hot sewing needle!!!

GROSS DUDE!!!
I accidently drilled right into my finger with a brand new sharp 2.5mm drill bit. It went right in and I probably should have gone to the quacks about it because it took weeks to stop bleeding and months to actually heal. I must have drilled a small plug of flesh completely out ;D

That looks nasty.
I sliced by finger on a tin of dog food then chopped the flap of skin off as I pulled away. That bled continuously for 5 days, no matter how many plasters I wrapped round it.

My dad drilled a spax fitting (about 8mm wide) into the fleshy part between his fingers.. not the nicest thing i've seen! Went in about an inch !

I'm sitting here nursing my own badgered thumb... (cant get pics as the hospital just wrapped it) using air hacksaw at work had to cut some tiny circles out so thinned the blade right down so it would turn sharper, blade got stuck I an pulled it without thinking.. an the sharpened back edge peeled my thumb print back a treat...

Final update, as that was NOT the end of it. This is how the Overgranulated Pyronoma (for that's what it had become) looked yesterday before I went into Worcestershire Royal this morning and had it removed. Looks like an extra pair of mini-b0ll0cks strapped to finger, doesn't it? I wish I could have taken a camera in with me, as the needle they used to anaesthetise my finger looked like one you'd use to tranquilise an elephant. Anyway, after they had scraped me back off the ceiling, they chopped my new tiny gonads off, chopped back the skin that had grown up round the base, then cauterised the massive hole that was left. I now have a finger that looks like a Cumberland Sausage with a bite taken out of it, and a week off work. That should be the end of the matter......
