This was bought by a mate in the 60's off a scrap dealer for £500 in North London. Owned and raced by him in club races. Now back in harness in competition. Wonderful car to drive with strong memories as described by Ian my mate aged 73 and still going STRONG!! What a beauty and what price now?

That is beautiful... and worth quite a bit more than £500 now.

ooooo I want its babies! Seriously though that is stunning ;D he's one lucky guy! But 500quid was rather a lot back in the 60's, according to a quick google a brand new Austin Se7en (mini) cost 497 quid. Still I think its probably worth a lot more than a new Matiz now (equivalent small car, since new minis ain't cheap cars like the old one!)

Coooool! I suppose £500 was a fair bit of wedge in the sixties, but still damn cheap for that!

Ian was telling me, they were all Bobbies at the time, and were sharing the drives and costs as no one could really afford it outright, which is how he got to drive it.... by adding to the fuel and track fees.
Still a beauty.

That's brilliant! Incredible to think your friend saved it from a scrap dealer all those years ago, and that it's still bieng used in anger all these years later! Beautiful car Apparently, according to Ian, his mate who bought it saw the owner/scrap dealer , who had taken it as part payment for a debt, using it to go grocery shopping. He bought it for £500 and sold it many years later for £60k..... clearly now it is worth even more. I think there were only 3 of them built.

As random as the time I saw my mate in his overalls picking up the bacon sarnies . . . in a customer's Testarossa! Great story Grizz, cheers for sharing.

I used to work for a 70/80/90/00s singer songwriter, he had a fantastic collection of cars, his estate manager once popped to the shops for some milk in a Testarossa ;D
