Redneck, Hillbilly, Recycler, traveller, Womble, I have been called a few names in my life and to be honest, I really do not give a continental.
What is nice is seeing things be put to ingenious use, or saving a few quid, to be spent on something else down the line.
I have uploaded a few bits, and hope you guys put more on this thread of stuff you make recycling for both garden and home.
I love learning.
Firstly Some old bricks to raise the edge of a garden bed... below is bits of fence post to create the edges of the footpath, even though new, the slabs came out of a mates skip when he had materials over.... sense ?? Money ?? Even the gravel was left over from a job I had done at home, so had been paid for (most expensive part of the job) The stones on top of the bricks are from beaches, theme being red stones.
The bit of tree root again in a pile of fly tipped rubble and garden refuse... now home to a creeper Ivy/Hedra, it will be contained by the size hole in which the cutting was planted.
Secondly, a planter that may have been a washing basket, or possibly some other use in a house, picked up off the pavement on the way to work on bin day.
Ms Grizz's son's wellies from 2 years ago... outgrown and smelly.
Planters with a difference.
Found some drawers from a broken Ikea Chest of drawers today while looking for parking at work in Charlton.... now wall mounted planters. The bottom section of the upright one made of 2 small drawers and right hand section of the long one will be getting soil in, and some creeper type plants or groundcover to cascade out of them. The shelves have to get small pots with various flowers etc....
AFTER I paint them colourfully and add some red oxide paint for the roof and draw in tile shapes with a small brush and black Hammerite or something like that.
The idea is that these things last one year or season, and any longer is a bonus.
Please do add your various ideas and things Wombled or re-used differently.
