OK, here's a question for the observant RR members . I would like to install some seat belts to a pillarless coupe that has no belts in it The retractor mechanism will be fixed on to the inside sill and a pivotal bolt will be fixed into the roof ( I believe that the car has these seat belt fixing points from factory). Can someone suggest possible donor cars that may lend their mechanisms.? How are seat belts in other pillar less coupes mounted? Suggestions welcome

How are seat belts in other pillar less coupes mounted? Scrappingscraps old Merc 500SEC had James bond style retracting seatbelt holders that slid forward from the rear for the front seats,.. they rocked

Hi datsfun, would I know you through the DOC?
What model have you got there? Sounds like the arrangement I've got on my Skyline - the mount that is usually bolted on the B post at about shoulder height is suspended on a strap hanging from that pivotal roof bolt you mentioned.
I would offer you the spare Skyline belts I think I have, but the trouble is the reels for these are mounted inside the rear quarter trim panels whereas on a ’72 model the reel should probably be surface-mounted (ie. visible inside the car). It certainly is in my ’73 180B. Also, the stalks which are normally bolted to the floorpan/tunnel are actually bolted to the Skyline's seat.
PM me if you want to know more.

We mounted them on the floor in our Series 3A Rapier Appologies for 1960's Airfix model picture Which was pillarless (It was ace how the rear window wound down in 'a cicular arc').
