Think you may have to fit some quarter arches... and maybe some lights... possibly some windows too for UK MOT pass...
But ill take the number 50 please!

apart from registration issues i don't see why one couldnt be made road legal.
All the same issues as a hotrod i guess.

For some reason, this...... Totally does it for me. Can't see road legality being too difficult either, with all wheels already enclosed. Lights could even be added stealthily for the full 24 hour MOT win. Not sure Mrs Franster would approve, though

no matter how legal the car was, how many times do you think you could drive it without getting a tug lol. Isnt it ilegal to have numbers on a road car? I remember the rally guys i know used to have to remove the numbers if they fancied driving the race car home

I asked VOSA about 2 years ago and they said there is no legal requirement to remove race numbers from a car for road use. They gave me some jip about insurance being invalid if I had modifications which were undeclared for some reason. But race numbers, once I assured them I was not racing on a public road, were no bother to them.
I have heard this "its illegal to have numbers on" thing before but I think its a myth. Everything from buses to taxis to couriers or plumber's vans have ID numbers on them, phone numbers, route numbers, depot numbers. So meh.
As with all things when someone says "thats illegal" you have to ask "what law are you breaking?"

It's an MSA rule, random numbers would be OK. If they are MSA numbers and you are a licence holder I believe you can get sanctioned for displaying the numbers outside the event.

Ah, so its a governing body rule not a law. I see that now. Thanks for clearing that one up.

I made a thread about these a few months ago. A road legal one would be awesome. Another car that would need to be a full on replica though including the big block and slicks.
