My colleague Stu is looking to buy some über cheap motoring and we were thinking 205 Diesel. A Peugeot owners club car has come up fro £200 ono in apparently good nick so we thought cool
First question. It's a non turb but we recon the 205 is so light it's not a problem
Next the fun bit. The plan isto paint it NATO green. Fit skinny 1.1 wheels and spray em black. White Ballard Creative stencil writing and a good slamming. We think the skinny wheels will look boss under the arches!
Stick a rack on the roof for Stu's surf board and drill some eyelets into the front wings for extra mounting points. Job done.
what do you think?

Fannytastic idea..... but.... 14x6in pug 406 steels (already supplied matt black) would work much better than 4in (?) povo-205 rims. Or black-painted 1.9gti speedlines..... Otherwise it will just look wierd

I love 205 diesel chuggas, they're great, even the non-turdblowa ones are quite adequately speedy.

Great idea! Get some Rallye steelies so they have a bit of girth and make sure its the most basic of the 205 models, without front spoliers etc.....

Sounds like a great idea...you'll have to get it really slammed to pull it off though.

Cool, but I have to disagree about the wheels. I have a feeling that thin is the way to go on this. Can't hurt to try it and get some wider steelies later. Alloys a definite no no.

Sounds like it could be interesting, I'd probably go for reasonably wide, but still subtle steelies, like modern Wellers personally, but whatever floats your boat. ;D

Definately stock steels. It will need to be as low as is physically possible. None of that namby pamby 35mm business! Grind away!!

205 diesels are 1.7 but the 1.9 lump will go straight in. You could tow your house around with that ;D. Sounds like a seriously cool project

You could run 5.5J Lotus Cortina steels! I like the idea that the wheels are worth ten times what the car is!! But no, tiny 1.1 steels it will be. And fear not when it gets hit with the slammage stick it will get hit hard!!
