RIP Pontiac. 1926-2010. I want this so bad it hurtzzz I'm a fan of the latest crop of modern muscle cars (Mustang, Challenger, Camaro) and the fact that I won't even have the chance to get into serious debt for a new Bandit Trans-Am is a wounder I don't even want to look at my Audi A3 now, I want that new Bandit

The guy driving the car being chased in both Bullitt and the Seven-Ups is Bill Hickman. He also drove the car in The French Connection. The "new" Trans Am is a photoshop of a Camaro (which incidently is enormous - there are a dozen or so knocking about the car park at work, and I swear they are bigger than a Commodore). If you want one to put in your shed, then get one of these: Of course, then there is always the stillborn ST: One or two of these kicking about work too, although I suspect they are not long for this earth now.

It would make sense to Potatoshop a Camaro to make a Firebird Are they really that big? I'm quite taken with the 2010 model Camaro...hmm, quite stupid for a daily, but very appealing ;D

On the news at the moment: Fiat wants not just Chrysler, but also GM's European operations (ie. Opel, Vauxhall and - I suppose - Saab).
Interesting...

Are they really that big? About 6 cm shorter than a Commodore, pretty much the same width. Wheelbase is about 6 cms shorter too. So, pretty big for a 2 door sports car

As I heard it, In the US, Saab, Hummer, Pontiac and Saturn all dead and buried. Pontiac and Hummer when stocks of built cars are sold. Saab and Saturn no more new models. Imports of Saab end at the end of the year. In europe, Saab has filed to independant protection in europe if GM europe goes belly up. A group of chinese car makers want the Saab brand. Fiat wants Opel, but GM europe want to keep the Vx brand. So I guess in future, so, Daewoos will be badged Vauxhall in GB and Chevrolet in the rest of europe instead of being rebadged Opels. Screwed if you ask me.

Tbh If anyone should take all that over, I would trust Fiat a lot with it.

When did Fiat become so flush with money to afford a take over ? Be strange to see totally different Vauxhalls and Opels.....

They're not flush... I think they are something like 6 billion in debt - not sure if that's before or after taking over Chrysler
