So you guys must have heard it too. Pontiac is gone in order to try and keep GM alive. By the end off 2010 all Pontiac models will be out of production.
So please join me in making a remembrance thread for this famous mark.
I'll start of with my top-7 of best car chases featuring Pontiac's;
Number 1; The French Connection car chase, 1971 Pontiac Le Mans.
Filmed in Brooklyn without permission. The car is driven by Bill Hickman, the same stuntman that drives the Dodge Charger in Bullitt.
Number 2; The Seven-Ups car chase, 1973 Pontiac Ventura and Pontiac Grand Ville.
A long chase through the streets of New York very much like the one in Bullitt, but somehow this one isn't remembered as much.
Number 3; Two-Lane Blacktop, 1970 Pontiac GTO "The Judge".
A lot of cartalk in this movie, but seeing as this is a proper "Judge" and G.T.O. (character played by Warren Oates) explains his car in this scene made it a great scene.
Number 4; Cannonball! car chase, 1970 Pontiac Trans Am.
David Carradine (known from Kill Bill, Kung Fu and Death Race 2000) is driving this Trans Am. This chase also features a De Tomaso Pantera, one of my favorite cars of all time.
Number 5; McQ, 1973 Pontiac Trans Am.
John Wayne driving a beautiful black Trans Am through a (1970's) tour of Seattle.
Number 6; Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, 1973 Pontiac Trans Am.
Jeff Bridges stealing a white Trans Am with the trademark bird on the hood.
Number 7; xXx, 1976 Pontiac GTO.
Vin Diesel doing his thing in this modernized version of the classic GTO.
