I'm thinking of modding my daily driver 1994 Skoda Favorit GLXiE..... maybe lowered springs, uprated shocks, bit of tuning (modified head, K+N, exhaust, that sort of thing). Quite fancy some plain steel wheels (VW?). I'd leave the body standard, including the scabs 'N' scratches, so I'd have a bit of a sleeper.... I know it's not exactly 'retro' , but I like the car and actually think it's fun to drive. Maybe one of the Skoda experts on here can give my some tips and point me in the right direction??

Wide wheels (15inch or less with a RWD-type offset) and a good slamming. Sorted.

They handle great with a bit of lowering....my '95 GLXiE has full HP lowering kit (set on lowest setting) and a set of 15" Smiths alloys...engine wise is standard at moment apart from a 3" Rage backbox....goes well and sounds awesome...also has a Felicia alloy strut-brace

Yep, i'm with Kenton (havefunSkomad) on this. he's got the shocks off my old favorit on his. The HP shockers (about £300 including springs for the full set) are budget motorsport, rather than budget knob cruiser. You can adjust the height, and set it up for circuit, tarmac rally, or forest rally, but it isn't the normal threaded post, you need to clamp the springs, and move a circlip to raise or lower the bottom platform, refit the circlip at the new level, and then release the spring. Have a look at JHM Butts for details. You can still get hold things like rally seat subframes, and steering wheels. You can also move the ball on the gear lever up witha little welding, and give yourself a quickshift. Have a look for a company in birmingham called or Autosport, they have done a little bit of Skoda work on reprofiling cams, and lightening flywheels and head machining. Get rid of the middle exhaust box, the sound will be deeper, but shouldn't be too loud. See if you can a Felicia MPi head, the bolt straight on, and flow better than any Favorit head. You may even need to go to Throttle body injection, and a Mapable injection system. Lots of rally stuff out there. Squeeze in abit of NOS too, if you are feeling brave. |

Got PI springs on my Favorit with standard shocks,hope to aquire H&R shocks from Czech later.Also had works Grp-A exhaust from Czech but thing is just too loud for road use so that is up for grabs with spare new silencer.Tyres are 185-60-13 with standard LS alloys and a Factory body kit.Hope to have seat from Rapid soon,far better than standard Favy seats.
