Guys... There's a lil' motor I've got my eye on, obv. on Ebay.... thing is it ends in 2 hours or so and i shall be going out in a bit... It's the sort of motor that requires "sniping", as I fear boshing a good bid in now could spark a bid-war.... Anyone got any experience of using these "bid-sniping" thingies? I tried one before and it didn't seem to work. I'm also a bit skeptical about giving all me eBay details out to a third party, no matter how "secure" they say they are.....

Bid sniping is for winners if you ask me. I use www.bidnapper.com, you can get a free trial on it, give it a whirl. You have to put in your ebay username and password but I think its pretty secure OK.

Now then - it's either the Merc or the Jetta........

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Lock and load Nick.
But you and sniping... this has to be an expensive combination!

sniping? eh?
Suely that's just the same as having automatic bidding with some money left in your "pot"

As soon as someone bids and you have set a higher limit your bid jumps up instantly (I think) to beat theirs. With a sniper your bidding is all done right at the last minute hopefully so fast and ninja like the other bidders can't respond in time.

Meh. 'Twas all for nothing. The inevitable bidding war in the closing minutes happened anyway. miniOh well. Plenty mo' frogs in the pond. At least the sella will be happy - he appears to have doubled his money inside 4 weeks.

Sniping seems unfair, but is actually closer to a real auction. Everything else is just viewing time!

Love the bit of psycology that ebay uses - you win the auction - WIN!!! Not pay more than the other guy which is in reality what your doing.
Bid your max bid and stick to it, if you get outbid someone is paying more for it, you don't lose you just choose not to pay as much as the other guy.

Yeah but no but! thats the prob with ebay, its addictive, and if you want something and if the (rest of the country) other bidder(s) have more money you are screwwed, you (i) often have to up my max bid or consider maxing it in the last few stressful seconds. pushing the price. Its a bit like gambling, but you either get summat for a price, or not spend any money!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
