mine just failed its MOT but nothing was mentioned about the rear springs which come losoe when jacked up, i'd a;ready swapped the fronts as they fell out and didnt re seat when jacked, but the rears did re-seat.
they didnt like my panhard rod modification to make the wheels stay in the arches though ;D

Clearly it states : Take care when jacking vehicles with shortened or lowered springs fitted. Provided the spring ends locate correctly when the vehicle is lowered into the normal running position, without any assistance this is not a reason for rejection. What more do you need?? Thats great, thanks! Buuuut, where has the original pic come from? I was failed on 'incomplete springs, and a photo/scan of the MOT testers manual, showing that exact text would make it clear cut in future IMO!

It always comes to this: It's the spring tree...where springs grow. Because spring aren't cut and shaped bits of metal bar at all. Lowering springs grow on trees and they're completely different from other springs because they're painted.

arrrghhhhhhh. ive had cut springs on everything ive owned bar the metro and aircooled stuff..... even my reliant had its one spring chopped!!! and i love the fact they think a set of lowering springs will solve the dropping out of the cup issue... the springs will be softer, hence the fact it can extend and retract further than a standard/chopped spring... thats gonna make it bloody bouncy but not once do they say oh and make sure you use stiffer shocks (FOR SAFETYS SAKE OBVIOUSLY ) ARGHHHHHH SORRY
