Well heres my runaround for while my mini gets fixed, Its a 1989 vauxhall nova saloon, complete with retro box shaped charm (or lack of it.) Its a strange car to drive, and I think I'm just about used to the shocking handling now! This car is in serious need of lowering and being made stiffer. It has recently been converted to electronic ignition and had a new clutch, and runs incredibly smoothly. and some ideas:

The photoshop looks ace! You've got to watch out for the ridiculous Vauxhall offset though, it's something like ET49. Mad.
I'd still be tempted to leave it as it is, it's never going to feel as good as your Mini handling-wise.
Crappy to hear about your Mini by the way, people are sh!t. Someone hit my Golf recently and just drove off, luckily they just broke the bumper, but I'm still angry about it even now.

haven't put anything in this thread for a while, so heres a bit of an update I've decided to strip out the nova and make it into a bit more fun, but on a tight budget. So far I've won some -60mm lowering springs and shocks from ebay for £10.50, these wheels for £50: and the stripping is free! heres the progress as of today (haven't got the ebay stuff yet): cheap bucket seat that I got from a mini show last year, was £12 iirc floor will be hammerite black can't wait to get the stance sorted

got the wheels now I love them, one of my favourite styles I'm becoming a wheel whore! hehe anyway, onto the Nova: looking quite untidy, been using the bonnet as a paint tester as you can see, slamming is medically needed, and some arch flaring, but its an improvement at least
